Guillermo Irias, Spanish descendant born in Central America, attended the well known FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) having previously received his bachelor degree in fashion design.
He stands out with his edgy and feminine ready-to-wear collections, his passion for history, subcultures, arts, classic music and movies are evident in his work and remains an important source of inspiration for him in every project.
Guillermo started his career in 2012 by winning a fashion contest in Central America that led to a fashion company selling a mass collection under his name. This was the first retail contract for him on the mass market. Since then he has produced 10 Collections, dressed countless beautiful women, and designed ready wear collections according to seasons.
His work has been worn at the Presidential Independence day reception in Canada. He has experience as a fashion advisor thanks to him being featured on a tv show in Honduras and Costa Rica for almost 3 years.
In addition to his experience as a fashion designer and highly skilled dressmaker, he has previously signed 3 contracts with retailers in Central America, bringing his collections to highly popular shopping centers.
His collections have been presented in Pop-up stores all around the world including places such as Costa Rica, Honduras, Argentina, New York City, Denver CO, Mexico, Spain, Russia, and Poland. The clothing lines are available online and have been since 2017.
His resume includes work produced for Madonna, specifically collaboration on the costumes for her "Rebel Heart Tour” (2015-2016), as well as collaborating as design director of an exclusive collection for the celebrity Matt Titus in New York City.
In 2016, Guillermo was nominated for Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (TOYP) sponsored by The Junior Chamber International (JCI). A program that serves to formally recognize young people who excel in their chosen fields and exemplify the best attributes of the world's young people.
In 2016, Guillermo had the opportunity to showcase for the first time in New York Fashion Week and immediately after received many invitations to showcase not only around the United States including LA, Miami, Denver, Las Vegas and New York but also in Paris, London and 3 cities in Canada.
Guillermo currently lives in New York, where he works as a freelance designer and a fashion professor.
